Kind of Austrian patent documents

The following Austrian patent documents published by the Austrian Patent Office are published on the Austrian publication server.

Austrian patent applications: A1, A2, A4
Search reports: A3, A5
Corrections of patent applications: A8, A9 (according to WIPO standard ST 50)


Patent specifications:    
B (published according to the old patent law until 1.7.2005),
B1 (published according to the patent law since 1.7.2005)
Amended patent specifications:    B2
Corrections of patent specifications: B8, B9 (according to WIPO standard ST 50)


Austrian utility models U1, U2 (no search report)
Utility model search-reports U3
Corrections of utility model specifications U8, U9

Updates of the Austrian publication server

The Austrian Publication Server is updated on a monthly basis. The publication day of austrian patent applications, granded patents and registered utility models is on the 15. of each month.

Syntax for the retrieval of Austrian patent documents

The search allows several different criteria that follows a specific syntax as follows:

Publication number: the syntax should be country code + number.
You can key in or not a space between the country code and the number (eg: 'AT0412936' or 'AT 0412936') You can also key in or not the country code and the leading zero (eg: '0412936' or '412936')

Application number: the syntax should be country code + number.
The application number has to be entered in the format YYYYNNNNN (year: 4 digits, number: 5 digits).
For example: To find A 1137/2003 please enter AT 200301137.
You can key in or not a space between the country code and the number (eg: 'AT 200301137' or 'AT200301137')
You can also key in or nor the country code and the leading zero (eg: '0200301137')

IPC Symbol: the search on IPC is only available on SECTION+CLASS+SUBCLASS.
Consequently, the valid values are on 4 digits (A61K, D01B...).

Publication date: select via the list box if you want to search using a particular publication date (during) or a range (between). Then select the year and week using the list boxes.

Kind: select the kind codes you want to search by ticking or not the corresponding checkbox.


Format of the Austrian patent documents

The formats available are SGML (WIPO standard ST 32) and PDF.
